Slides are now available below from the online NACLICS panel discussion on frontier technologies and inequality. The panel provided a comprehensive picture of the status and trend of frontier technologies on developing countries.  Few countries create the technologies that drive the fourth industrial revolution, but all countries will be affected by these them.  In this panel, we discussed the potential effects the two waves of technological change: the digitalization and Industry 4.0 and what this implies for countries which are not well prepared for the consequences. The panel was based on UNCTAD’s Technology and Innovation Report 2021.

The panelists are:

  • Clovis Freire – Economist, Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD
  • Susan Cozzens – Professor Emerita, Georgia Tech
  • Alfred Watkins – Founder and Chairman, Global Solutions Summit
