THOMAS WOODSON
Bio
Dr. Thomas S. Woodson, Associate Professor in the Department of Technology and Society at Stony Brook University.
He investigates the effects of technology on inequality throughout the world and the causes/consequences of inclusive innovation. For the past several years he has studied the effectiveness of scientific funding to have broader impact, and ways to improve diversity in STEM fields. He is currently the director of the $4 million State University of New York Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (SUNY LSAMP) and the $1 million S-STEM Scholarship Academic and Social STEM Excellence for Transfer Students (ASSETS) programs. These NSF sponsored programs help low-income, and underrepresented minority students persist and succeed in STEM majors and careers.

CLAUDIA DE FUENTES
Bio
Dr. Claudia De Fuentes, Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University.
She has participated at several GLOBELICS and LALICS conferences. She has always found all GLOBELICS events highly engaging and intellectually invigorating. Her research experience includes innovation in firms, systems of innovation, the creation and use of knowledge in a globalized economy, innovation in global value chains, new forms of academia–industry collaboration, and science, technology and innovation policy. She has collaborated with several research groups to work on projects financed by SSHRC (Canada), CONACYT (Mexico), the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS), the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the Foro Consultivo científico y tecnológico (FCCT) in Mexico, and for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

Tracey Broome
Lecturer, Department of Economics at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus
Banking and Finance
Tracey Broome is a Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and Master’s Program Coordinator for Banking and Finance. She teaches in the areas of Finance, Quantitative Methods and Operations Research for the Department of Economics.
Her recent research has explored innovation with much focus on research and development (R&D) and financial constraints and has published in accounting and entrepreneurship journals. She is currently examining innovative financial solutions for SMEs, the National System of Innovation approaches as development tools for Caribbean countries, and digital transformation in the Caribbean.

JEFF KINDER
Bio
Jeff Kinder, PhD
Director of Science, Technology and Innovation
Council of Canadian Academies
Jeff Kinder has over 35 years of experience at the intersection of science, technology, innovation and policy in the US and Canada. His US experience includes the National Science Foundation, the National Academies and the Naval Research Laboratory.
In Canada, Jeff has worked in the federal public service at Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada and the Council of S&T Advisors (CSTA). From 2015-2017, he led the Federal S&T Secretariat supporting the Minister of Science and Deputy Minister Champion for Federal Science. From 2017-2022, he led the science and innovation area of practice at the Institute on Governance.
At the University of Ottawa, Jeff is the inaugural Executive-in-Residence at the Institute for Science, Society and Policy (ISSP). Jeff is a board member of the Canadian Science Policy Centre and a member of the HIBAR Research Alliance governing council.

TATEVIK POGHOSYAN
Bio
Tatevik Poghosyan is a senior policy advisor and economist at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS), holding a PhD in Economics focusing on technological change from UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University in the Netherlands. With over 20 years of experience in innovation, sustainability, and transition policies, she has worked extensively within the Government of Canada, international organizations, and academic institutions. Before her role at TBS, she held key positions at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, Innovation Canada at ISED, and the Green Hub at ESDC. She contributed to research and policy initiatives at the International Development Research Centre. Her work has played an integral role in developing inclusive industrial and innovation policies, advancing Canada’s transition to clean growth, and assessing the impact of Government programs supporting innovation and business growth.
Dr. Poghosyan’s influence extends beyond government roles; she is an expert consultant for UN projects and collaborates with think tanks and non-profits such as the Canadian Science Policy Centre, reinforcing her dedication to sustainable development goals in developing and developed countries. She actively supports academic engagement, serving as a NACLICS (North American and Caribbean Academic Collaboration) board member and a coordinator at the Institute of New Economic Thinking, where she teaches, mentors, and empowers young scholars through events focusing on economics, innovation, and sustainability.
Beyond her professional interests, she is passionate about travelling and exploring different countries and cultures.

ALEJANDRA ROSALES SOTO
Bio
Alejandra Rosales-Soto is co-founder, and board member at NACLICS, The North American and Caribbean chapter of the GLOBELICS.
She has a Ph.D. in Management Sciences within the research field in technological innovation and trends in the digitalization business. Recently she has been recognized as a Researcher Level 1 recognition from the Research Institute by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), Mexico. She is an Assistant Professor of Business Engineering at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. She has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals focused on the agriculture business’s technological capabilities and innovation activities. Also, she has extensive experience teaching case studies and being a reviewer in peer-reviewed journals.

DANILO SPINOLA
Bio
Dr. Danilo Spinola is a Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University (BCU). His research explores the intersections of innovation, inequality, and sustainability, with a strong focus on economic development in emerging economies. Drawing on Schumpeterian, Evolutionary, and Keynesian frameworks, his work combines theoretical modelling with empirical analysis to understand how innovation and structural change affect growth, employment, and the environment.
Dr. Spinola earned his PhD in the Economics of Innovation from UNU-MERIT, where he also completed a postdoctoral fellowship. His research has been published in journals such as Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Review of Political Economy, Metroeconomica, and Review of Keynesian Economics. He regularly collaborates with international organisations, including ECLAC, the Inter-American Development Bank, and INET, contributing academic insights to global policy debates.
He is a member of the Globelics Scientific Board, Editor of Innovation and Development, and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Evolutionary Economics.

DHANARAJ THAKUR
Bio
Dr. Dhanaraj Thakur, Research Director at the Center for Democracy & Technology
He leads research that advances human rights and civil liberties online. Over the last 15 years, he has designed and led research projects that have significantly informed tech policy and helped improve the way public policy problems are framed. These have ranged from large multi-national research projects to those working with groups of individuals.
